I saw what appeared as water spots on mine and feared some type of defecct. Turns out just a little water and a microfiber cloth took care of the spots in short measure.
Do your spots appear to be on the surface or part of the LCD display?
Ordered my DV8000Z on 1/24/06, with an expected build date of 2/6/06. Got a tracking number on 2/2, and the machine is sitting at a Fedex sort facility about 70 miles from here. My guess is it'll be here tomorrow (2/6).

They won't match the existing footings, but you get a sheet of about 2 dozen. Just put a set of four evenly spaced on the bottom and you'll be good to go.
