with window 7 64bit available, guess this is the best option now.

these discs will be as good as recovering what have been saved on the disc other changes will have to happen after the recovery.
I find it a little bit funny but interesting... how can a dead pixel be revived?

I'm wondering if you've tested your HDD with other computer? I've also read an article saying that SATA drives are having problem with windows xp that it needs to be set in BIOS.
With these features, this will surely be listed on my favorite computer technicians tool list. I like being portable (no need of installation)
I would go for Asus this time.
