There is no upgrade to video card in this computer.
What is a reflow/reball?
Buy a air canister and blow out the keyboard to remove any debris that might be under the keys. Keyboards are relatively inexpensive to replace and usually run around 20 dollars. You can check www.parts-people.com or Dell Spare Parts...
Remove all the CRUs. Remove memory, hard drive, dvdrom drive, battery and espress service card. Put one stick of memory. Plug it into a/c adapter only. Hold down the power button and see if you can get it to POST. If not then try it...
If the ethernet port is bad. Then you would have to buy an ethernet pccard. Otherwise it would require a motherboard repacement
Once you get the computer and  if it does not have the Windows 7 OEM DVD, call Dell and tell them you want one and they will usually ship you one for free.
Better yet bump up the graphics card on XPS 15 to the 2B GT 540M for $100 more and you will have a comparable graphics card to the Lenovo
I would go with the XPS 15, because of the Quad core processor and the 1080p Screen.
FN F8 usually toggles between the LCD and the monitor.
What do you plan on using the Laptop for?
