just to be sure ill try the arctic silver 5 and see what kind of difference it makes.
anyone know of the correct way to apply AC5 as everyone seems to have different ideas of the correct procedure
no the fans noise isnt the problem, i personally can barely hear them. but the temp got up to 99deg c
isnt that dangerous? and hes using a zalman cooler
i thought anything over 90 is getting to danger temps
yep same spec only he diff is he has blu ray and i dont. he did say that he used some thermal compound he used for his xbox 360, but i had a look at the compound tube and it looks like crappy stuff, should he try some arctic silver? whats the best stuff
Here is the screen print of my cpu at 3.7ghz
Today my my friend got the same cpu as me (qx93000) he also has the same notebook cooler i have zalman ZM-NC3000U.
i loaded OCCT4 and 3dmark vantage on his laptop and the temps get really high, always between 90 - 100 and this is with the cooler and the sound of the notebook fans at full speed. i had to stop it at 97 as i was pretty much crapping myself lol. my laptop did this kind of before i had my cooler...
I have been using throttlestop 4.0 for the last few hours. you can edit the voltages, multipliers and a ton of other features.
using a ZM-NC3000U cooler and OCing at 3.7ghz and very stable
OCing also at 3.4 solid stable
going to play around with it for a while, if anyone knows of any threads about safe voltages etc for the qx9300 that would be great
thx for that, updated the bios, doesnt seem to be any change. wish i could edit the voltages etc.
so far the highest i can go i still x11 and left on 1066 fsb
if i increase it by 10, computer starts but windows logon screen doesnt appear, but i hear the sound
if i do 1086 BSOD
any ideas on i can get over 3ghz? im currently on 2.9ghz which compared to others is so crap
im still having some issues even using x11
my bios is A05 and would like to update my bios and try overclocking again, some people are saying A06 and some A07. any suggestions?
or is there any software i can use to overclock it from windows and change things like voltage? sorry im a total noob in this area lol
