thanks qhn  the link is very useful and it still works and downloads free. but there only toshiba sattelite models schematics are available. not even one tecra schematics. it is a very nice find for our forums :)

yes it is more of academic interest and the notebook was gifted to me 5 years back. it has worked for more than the toshiba life claim of 50,000 hrs say about 70,000hrs without a hitch. currently i have a tecra M2 for last 2 years...

what is the iso you need? if it is toshiba xp iso i may be able to help XPSP3_TOSHIBA_OEM_iso is available on torrent
if it is really 97 deg C it should have switched off by itself.check if the pwm signal wire is cut /loose in the connector of the fan[hope the connector is not reversed]   what system are you running? windows linux

Wow!  that is wonderful qhn if you have that it will save my tecra 9000. i am sure it has a problem of power supply ready signal problem. the bios wont just start.prior to that i had a cap shorted in the power supply[switch]...
Laptop Disassembly Tips  is the same as Field Replaceable Units guide which is available for tecra 9000 also.that is only how to remove and replace units. it would not say what is wrong with any unit.
