I found the same phonemeon whe I got my D610. After checking the setting in OS, I found its because ATi driver issue. ATi driver also has the same option. You have to turn off the ATi driver setting to make it work.

I am curious about this new Intel miniPCI 3945 card too. Besides its a a/b/g card, not much can be found.

533MHz is all you need, 677MHz is for Core Duo. As for memory brand, as long as they offer reasonable warranty and use name brand chips like Micron, Inferion and Samsung, then you are good.
