I've done that and so did many in this forum. Except that people usually swap prescott to northwood, not the other way.

I'd rather wait since the super dence notebook hard drives are going to come out pretty soon. So prices should drop for the current ones.

Yes it is. I tried mine on an old tv and couldn't get high resolution so everything looked bad and text was unreadable. Not too bad for watcahing movies though.
