Phase 8 to shipping happened in the same day on my last 2 laptops from Alienware... its definitely possible and maybe even likely, but who knows... once you're in phase 8 you're practically done.

tbbz, are you still using it right out of the box? i think a clean reinstallation of windows xp will give you improvements all across the board. try updating drivers as well, as they will give you performance benefits.

Your 3dmark05 does seem rather low, it should be near twice as fast as the 3dmark06 score, which seems more in line with what you should have. When I first received my Aurora 7700, I ran 3dmark05 out of the box and got a pretty weak...
