whatever the reason was , i am glad they did it , i saved $800 on my inspiron 8600.

i8600 is more than enough for you. i am running very demanding apps on mine like Maya , XSI , vegas and zbrush. Even though right now i have only 512 mb ram in it right now (waiting for 512 more) all apps run faster than on my desktop....
