I've had the same shocks from one particular power outlet in my house and nowhere else. It likely has something to do with the grounding, like you suggest. Might I recommend one of the 3-prong adapters?

I've had the same problem with my 8887 but it usually goes away after a while. Now it's got an entirely new problem where if I rattle the guy a little bit, it shuts off on its own - but that's an entirely different topic.

This is a REALLY dumb question, but which one of the jacks is the microphone jack on the 8887? is it the middle one? or the ... other one. I can see the one with the "headphones" logo would clearly be audio out, but I can't...

I've got this problem on my 8887 too. It got so bad that the plastic around the hinge eventually broke off and now I have to order a $35 lid that will, as it seems, eventually break again.

You'd have to play the first half life for a brilliant storyline, the second one isn't as cool but it's still there.
