update for everyone...I finally got the 8800gtx upgrade for free! it took a few too many phone calls, but persistence paid off!

I have been war-ing with Dell...my replacement has burned in black line at the bottom and 2 dents on the lid...both they are going to replace...yeah (sarcasm)...and as for the person who says it is childish...how about that crysis...

Well...I just found out that they shipped me the original configs without the 8800 that I was promised by the tech on Friday...so after getting off the phone with the most useless tech I have to call back tomorrow when the escalation...

If I wanted would I be able to upgrade the cpu and/or add the physx card without voiding my warranty?

Well my m1710 gpu died and after talking with Dell since it is still under warranty and they were great about everything and they are sending me an m1730 replacement. Here are my m1710 specs: 2ghz core duo 100gb 7200rpm 2gb RAM 8x...

I have since reinstalled vista and updated drivers and kept processes to about 50 and now it fluctuates between 3-12% at idle....so success, but fan 1 on i8kfangui still runs way more than under xp...have no explanation for that...

I did install office enterprise...sorry I forgot to answer that question...also this is the full dvd I purchased. I did a clean install and then since I only purchased the upgrade code, I upgraded from inside the clean install of vista....

I think it is necessary to have it running.

This is a clean install of Vista Ultimate. This is also after settling down....any other suggestions???
