DVD Shrink has the option to burn right after ripping onto your computer ... just do that. It will be a lot faster than ripping with DVD Shrink and burning with Nero.

I have the same problem, I'm just guessing that you're supposed to run the laptop at that resolution. Everyone wants higher resolutions anyways, why would you want to lower it?
Edit: Actually it looks sharp in 800x600 mode as well...
