In the display properties where you can enable the tv-out, switch the tv over to primary display and your lcd over to secondary display. That should allow you to watch the video on your tv. I do the same thing with Windows Media Player...

yup they might just be turned down in the video properties settings. Native 14.1" xga screens look ok on the 600m. Although, sxga+ looks much much better :-)
Well I'm not sure if it works with PAL discs, but I use DVD Idle Pro to watch movies from different regions on my region 1 dvd drive. I've watched both region 2 and 3 movies on it just fine. I think they might also have other products...

yes, since you got the sxga+ screen everything will look better at the native 1400x1050 resolution. If you try and lower it then it will look kind of fuzzy/blurry.
