There is a glass cover over the screen. The hair is caught between that cover and the screen. We tried taking it off, but didn't have any luck. It's a Sony Vaio laptop, but from what I understand, all laptops are set up this way.
One of the guys I work with has an arm hair stuck behind his screen. It was at the bottom, but he tried to use canned air to blow it out, and managed to blow it right into the center of the screen.
