Try to disable all sleep option u have in the bios and let windows control itself. Try also to go to the device properties and check if u don't have an option about iddle the hardware.

Set the same resolution on the game and on windows and retry.

256 is the limit for using windows xp, your system is using a lot the swap file. I strongly recommand u at least 1gb ram

Another option is selling the aw laptop and choose a sager or a dell

AW doesn't support yet the 7800 gtx for the 7700 lappy. Maybe they'll propose it soon, but the motherboard also need to be swapped to the revion 6.0 In fact, if u want the 7800 gtx, u'll need to pay approx 2000$ for the upgrade...

Nvidia just annonces the 7800 ultra for desktop. This will be released very very quick, maybe they'll release the 7800 go ultra soon too. The new nvidia g72 will be released too in january or february 2006 with 512mb on the card.

May be also due to windows skin tool like thememanager.
