I wouldn't go below a mobility radeon 9700, x700, or x1400.

Build or buy a Cmoy amp if you don't want to drop $100. Also check out the head-fi for sale forums.

Try ebay. Although for the same money I'd probably go for Sony fontopia 51's or Koss plugs. Far far better sound from those.
