I have an inspiron 7000... still running... ( 7 years hold) A XPS Gen 1 (2 years old) And this one XPS M170 (1 year old) Only the Inspiron 7000 needed a video card replacement (by my fault, I put too much stuff in my back pack...
I use my bluetooth to synch my phone mostly (Nokia e62) . But yes you can easily transfer files from your PC to your phones. As far as ringtones, well my company is selling them so I can't make too easy for you But yes there are ways...

Do you try to install on a partitionned disk?? BF2 doesn't like partition. They only difference I have with you is 2G instead of 1G.

Installed it on my M170 (7800 GTX) and everything is smooth on BF2 and BF2142

Got one of the key they gave away today... will try it on my M170 and gave a short review
I would say be prepare to check in your lappy and buy a PC luggage that will protect it.
