Unfortunately the turion x2 doesn't do very well against the core duo. The ML-60 runs at 2GHz and the t2400 and t2500 run at 1.83 and 2.0GHz, respectively. You'll probably want a translator if you want to read more than the...
I don't know about that article above, everything else I have seen says the turion x2 will be using ddr2-667, not ddr2-800.
I should have posted the link. If you believe the register the new release date is the 17th. http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2006/05...2_rescheduled/
Looks like the S1 release date has been moved back to its original date, may 17. That's good news, that probably means that the yields are good and they feel they can release it when they think the timing will be best.
Chakz, why wouldn't they use the x1600? I still wish they'd go with nvidia so linux performance wouldn't blow goats for quarters.
You might wait to see if Acer puts out a new version with the dual core turion once it becomes available (probably in a few months). This way you'd probably have a much better graphics card, a dual core processor. I don't know that...
Perhaps I've been reading overclockers.com too often, but I'd be willing to bet we won't see a new ferrari until the aug/sept. Acer doesn't seem all that prompt about adopting new amd procs and then there is the issue of which chipset...
I thought the Turion x2 launch date got pushed back to late may or early june. http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2006/03...n_64_x2_debut/
Yeah, just to kick a dead horse a couple of times, go with the msi. The 7400 is actually worse than the 6600. Crappy naming schemes make me angry (I almost talked my brother into a dell with a 7400 before realizing that).
Better yet, maybe Acer will ditch the ATI ^#*% and use an Nvidia card.
