sounds like the problem I had, and dell replaced the motherboard. I don't have much faith in these i8600 motherboards, i'm on my 4th one in this unit. extended warranty has been worth it.

What model # linksys router do you have? I have a linksys WRT54G It has a setting for Wireless SSID Broadcast Enable/Disable. If I set it for Disable, it doesn't show up in the list of available wireless networks.
