what r ur options under the video tab in preferences? i'm using powerdvd 5 and i can check and uncheck "enable hardware acceleration". make sure ur not playing a movie and see if u can see that option

i have the same issue. it usually happends when it fails to come up after being in suspend mode. the light stops flashing, however, nothing shows up on the screen...so i would hold down the power button to shut it down. after waiting...

type this in the run box: msconfig then go to the startup tab. see if u can find any entries that r trying to run that .dll. if u find one..uncheck it.

have u used lavasoft ad-aware or spybot search and destroy?

yes...all batteries are like this. they eventually can't hold a charge anymore and die. none of them can last forever. this isn't the laptop's fault.
