I have had 4 Desktop LCD's No dead or stuck pixels. And 4 notebook's and out of them only 1 had a dead pixel and it was a 1st generation crystal view fujitsu.

The Intel Extreme Graphics 2 will play Quake 3 just fine at 1024x768 as it will UT2K4 in 800x600 plus a few others as well Iam sure. So you will be fine for what you need it to do.
