hi Elckerlyc , Where did you buy the notebook from? Im also in the Netherlands, and was looking at the Jewel version. Also the Jewel Topaz. Looking at your specs, looks like you got a good deal for the price.
Just to bring this thread back to A)Within the rules, and B)Relevance to this category - a) Yes MediaMarkt is a German company, you are right. But lets now not talk about retailers as its not really allowed in the rules I understand....
Voodoo make interesting looking laptops, especially colourful and good gaming performance. Of course they are a bit pricey though. The new Sony 505 ultraportable is very sexy, as is the ASUS s5000 series. (if you are not a gamer).
You should (and will) find LOTS of info on these forums to compare the two. Just search for them in the search box. But in my humble opinion, go with the Fujitsu.

Thats it. Im spitting the dummy. Notebooks are far too expensive in Europe. The manufacturers are not competing on price nor on customer service standards nor quality either. In the USA the same notebooks that sell here for $1800-$2000...
Yeah I agree with the 'let friends buy it for you' idea of FDisk. however, make sure they take the laptop out of its packaging and that it looks used. Otherwise, you will get stung by customs.
Desktop - AMD. More powerful, faster, etc. 2004 has been the year of AMD. Laptop - Intel. More battery life, better architecture for notebooks. (unless you are considering a P4 laptop). Dothans eat up AMD chips when it comes to battery...
