darn it.. im having same problem as well.. when i plug in an ethernet cable.. no response watsoever... best bet for now is the ethernet to usb adapter i have... =( tried updating the NIC's driver but it wouldn't update...!!

When i plug in the ethernet cable the computer doesn't even detect it and when i read the other devices such as router it doesn't even say that it's connected... perhaps i need to install the ethernet card? Under the device manager it...
