Let's see what happens. I had regular BF2 installed with 1.22 and it worked fine. I then installed SF and reinstalled 1.22 and poof everything changed.
That worked fine for me until I installed Special Forces and then the 1.22 patch. The file that needs to be modified ceases to exist with that upgrade, so now I am experiencing the same problem.
I can't really think of anything the P4 in the 9890 does better than the AMD FX60. Even Intel's newest attempt with the 965 chip still falls short of the FX-60 in a variety of apps. The AMD chips also draw less wattage and run cooler...
