I have decided to not bother with the motherboard exchange on this as it is too expensive. I really need to transfer what is on my harddrive to cd but how would I do this if I can not power up the laptop?

Well lets say my partner slammed it shut out of anger a few times recentley lol. Before it worked fine, now it wont turn on.

Oh, i have never done any of that. I just know the laptop has had a couple of bangs lately.
