Where exactly do you go to see all your laptop specs? (Like how many rpms your hard drive is, etc.) Also, is there any way at all these specs could be wrong? (ie. would there be less ram in the computer than what is specified?)
Thanks for the replies! The price is in Canadian dollars I'm liking the laptop so far...it's SO incredibly quiet (I haven't heard the hard drive yet), it hasn't gotten too warm yet, the keyboard/touch pad are easy to use, and the slot loading drive is really cool. My only concerns would be these:
When I type, the screen wobbles a bit. Not sure if this is a sign of bad build quality or not. The latch to open/close the computer is made out of cheapish plastic, and...
Ok thanks for the response Jacmet!
The Source's warranty policy is that everything is covered as long as it's a manufacturer's defect. The warranty also replaces the battery and the screen if there's dead pixels. They said if something were to go wrong it would take 2-3 weeks to get the laptop back. Is that what you mean by turn around time?
I just bought the Acer Aspire 1692 laptop. It came to $2095 (a little over what I wanted to pay). It was a display model (on for 5 days in cabinet) with a little scratch. The specs;
1 GB DDR2 ram
100 GB hdd
1.7 ghz pentium m
15.4" WSGA CrystalBrite screen
ATI mobility RADEON x700 video card
Slot loading DVD double layer drive/CD drive
I've asked this before but is it a good deal?
And now what should I do? Is there anything special I have to do to charge...
Update! I just purchased the laptop! Using it now Liking it so far!!
Only thing I'm still not sure about is the price... I ended up paying $2092 in total (laptop plus 3 year extended warranty). In Canadian funds. I couldn't get it all for $2000 b/c then they wouldn't have been making any profit at all. Too bad. My budget was $2000, so I'm not really happy about going over, BUT as long as this laptop is reliable, and will last me at least 3 years (with good...
ok thanks! I'm not sure if the laptop was turned off the whole time though...I'm pretty sure it was running. (But it wasn't when I took a look at it)
If I do get this one, I plan on fixing the scratch. It's noticible...it took the silver paint off. However, it didn't leave an "indent"...just took some paint off. What would be good to touch it up with I wonder?
