I was hoping to not have to tear both apart to find out. The casing and motherboard end are most likely different looking at ebay pics, thus I would like to swap just the panel and inverter together and reuse the laptop wiring harness.
No dice for me on WIN7 x64. I am using RTM. The driver installed the catalyst install manager, and the MS 2005+ Resistributable or somthing like that. No display drivers. It is detecting it as a standard VGA adapter.

Is this model PATA or SATA? If PATA will it support drives larger than 137GB, menaing does it support 48bit LBA? I will be using this for music and gps in the car only and want a big HD.
Try speccy from piriform.com It may show the actual card. Frankly I would go by what the bios says. All bios downloads typically have all the video bios codes for all the offered cards unless this has changed.
Mine is 53 in win vista 32 at idle at 100% / 100% CPU setting in bios. This is of course plugged in.
What did you have to do for intalling them? Use setup icon or do manually thru device manager? I will ditch my 32 bit install and give them a try.
Follow my directions above. It is not hard to diagnose. Once you figure it out, you will either part out the laptop, or clean and regrease the heatsink with new thermal paste.
