BIOS manufacturers often provide a backdoor master password. I remember using it when I forgot a password for my older desktop. It was a phoenix bios. Various sites list master passwords. Try "DELL" if you have a dell BIOS.
Hibernate's mine. I like how I can quickly boot up from hibernate and do a complete shutdown. However, the pc does get sluggish if you keep on hibernating without a full restart once in a while.

No. That's not part of the exchange policy. You can only exchange for the same model (if something is wrong or can't be fixed). The only exception is if the older model reaches end of line and they don't have anymore in stock.
