Thanks for the replies. My intent was not to address the fact that the adapter got hot, but more to find out where I could get other power adapters for my 5680. The adapter was sitting on a couch and had fallen down so as not to be...
I was playing some UT2K3 on my 5680 at my friends house for about an hour the other night. When it was time to pack up, the power adapter was blistering hot! It made me genuinely afraid to use my laptop to game on graphic intensive games...
I linked two XP's together over a crossover cable. No IP assignments. Only components being the standard QoS, TCP, File sharing, and Client for MSN. I did have some problems initally, but that was because I had assigned a static address...
I have something similar when I play Alice. Lots of flecks all over the screen. It seems I can't get rid of them, though droppping rez and textures seems to help a little bit.

I played some WC3 for a good 2-3 hours last night and that sucker was hot. Where can one go to buy a different one? If I want some peace of mind on this I'm going to need to buy a well-cooled PS. I need to sure that I don't blow...
The speeds are determined primarily from the modem driver and the line noise present on the line. You probably already have the most recent driver available, but yet if it were the lines, the old laptop would be slow also... you may want...
I'm in the same boat Blackbeard. Other than that dim area, the screen is flawless. I don't want to risk having problems just over this little thing. My friends say I should RMA it, but I'd really rather not. I do REALLY want to KNOW...
I also have the blotchy screen effect. I *think* I have the 7.93 driver installed, but I can't tell. It says the driver date is 8/12/03, driver version 6.14.10.6378. Can anyone confirm this?
Actually, I've found a great pic of it. That confirms that it is normal, but I would still like to know what it is. Down next to the Save and Exit option in the bottom right corner... It's a little dim area. Any ideas?
