Mine has been working like a charm.... have had to replace the cd drive twice, (but the most recent resulted in an upgrade to a dvd d/l writer @ the killer price of $109!!!!!!) Other than the occasional deep cleaning to get the dust...

AND JOJO.... I dont remeber what model you had, but if it is also a Uniwell, would they not also have the cable in question?? Probably alot cheaper.... Just a thought... Or perhaps all of us that live in or around south florida...
