If it was a HDD controller problem, then it would have affected the other HDD too. This drive has done the same thing on both primary and secondary conrtollers, and a driver does not cause the drive to make a physical grinding noise.. ...

I sumitted the RMA including the windows error the noise part, so hopefully the wont' give me any trouble... Other than this, the laptop has run like a dream. Does everything I ask it to.
