Hi All, I'm almost ready to lay down $3K and get myself a new laptop. I'm trying to decide between the 8850 and the 8120 - what are your thoughts on gaming performance between the two? I'm not interested in hearing about heat...
Bit of a non sequitur...what's that in reference to, ghn?
That is - are there any Calpella notebooks out there with SLI?
Do the Ibex Peak-M motherboards even support SLI yet?

But the 9262 had the desktop i7, not the mobile i7. Does the Calpella chipset generate significantly more heat than, say, a core 2 Quad Extreme, which was in the 9260 and is currently in the 9850? Both have a max TDP of 45W.
That's what I'm holding out for. Also - does anyone have any thoughts as to whether the next generation GeForce 3xx series will be swappable into the Calpella rigs being released now?
Although I'm still using my 3790 with XP - until Sager's Calpella rigs come out - I've found this guy to be an awesome source for information as to how to optimize my system to get the very best performance out of it: ...
I read it in a few places, but here's one: http://www.internetnews.com/hardware...+Windows+7.htm I guess it doesn't actually say it won't be out prior to October 22, just that it will be out by then.
Now I'm reading that Calpella will be released on October 22, to coincide with the release of Windows 7.
