I finally solved my unexpected shutdowns by using a vacuum to clean out the airway. It's worked great for a 2 years now... until today (which is what brought me back to this forum)... but now I'm having a different problem (other post).

Just an idea: It could be the batteries are going dead in the wireless mouse.. that's the primary thing I can think of changing over a month of use in the same location.
FWIW: I just received my Sager 4760 yesterday, and today I notice something similar. The screen never "appears like it's about to go out", but during heavy CD/DVD access and HD access, the screen dims slightly with each blink...
