I'd guess as long as the notebook can output @ 1920x1200 to any external device, it should be able to do HD out. I'm pretty sure that 1920x1200 is actually 1080i HDTV resolution. And I know for a fact the 17" inch laptops can...

I was actually a couple of days late in sending my broke laptop back, was about 3 days after i recieved the replacement, thats when dell sent me a letter with a pre-paid DHL label in it. I didnt use the label as I already had the one...
