but sadly i need something with at least some battery life, and in all praticality, a 17" laptop is not ideal for a college student on the move

meaning the 5600, and more importantly the 5650, should have given a stronger performance, albeit ultimately not up to the m10's standards
yes in real-life use I read that the 7200rpm HD does make a big difference
although I'm not sure how much juice it will suck, no offense, but I also read that the 7200 pulls about the same power as the 5400
so why not I say?
