Thank you for your help, qhn.
Why would the RAM be 333 if the FSB is 400?
This link shows the 755 as 400 fsb:

And this link shows the current cpu as 400...
I'm getting more confused as I look further into this cpu.
1) The bios reports the cpu as 1.4 GHz at 266 (maybe the installed RAM is 266?)
2) Crucial says the machine uses PC2700 RAM at 333

Thanks, dave. It looks like I could get the 2.0GHz cpu for about $50. I see that intel has regular, low voltage and ultra low voltage. How do I know which type(s) are compatible with my machine?
Here's the cpu I...

1.4GHz 400FSB, 512 RAM, Fujitsu MHT2030AT 30GB HD, CDRW/DVD, Mobility Radeon 9000, Intel wireless LAN...

Today, after I started up my 9300, I noticed that things were running very slow, and my CPU temp was low, too. I8kfan is showing the processor running at exactly 800Mhz. It's a 780, 2.26 Ghz processor.
Are there some tests I can...
I purchased and ran Spinrite which detected 6 bad sectors and recovered all files on those sectors. The drive is running fine now until my new WD 320 arrives. What is the best program to partition and set up the new drive?
