On my P7010D that I sold recently, I used to have 512mb ram and a 4,200 rpm 60gb hdd. I would have several word documents open, win media player, firefox with several tabs, symantec firewall+anti virus. It was still fine for me.

P7010D = Modular bay battery (11 hours total), better hard drive (2.5 as opposed to the Sony's 1.8, which tops out at a speed of 4,200 rpm, instead of the 7,200 rpm hdds that the P7010D supports. No protruding battery as with the Sony...
One thing you could do, if it is not transferable... is to trade it in for a new PSP and just offer the new PSP + games as a package+ cash. Or else that warranty will go to waste.

If entertainment is your main concern, go with a PDA. Not only can it play all type of movie files (PSP can only play mpeg4), it can also play all kinds of music files as well. Besides that, you have a library of more than 2000+ games...
