The A8Js looks nice but I'm having trouble understanding why it is a cheaper machine than the W3J series. More powerful graphics accelerator, and everything else appears to be equal, what am I missing here?
I'm on the market for a new laptop.. and the W3J meets most of my criteria - dual core, widescreen less than 15", a semi-decent graphic card and the other usual bells and whistles.
So what's the problem? Well I know Santa Rosa...

I have heard companies are working in getting the 7900 beast into smaller screens and hoped someone had succeeded but apparently they have not --- yet.
I saw in another thread something about some higher end graphics cards becomming available in some of the smaller screened machines (ie: smaller than 17"). I couldn't put together all the information though, can anyone shed some...

I'm undecided about laptop size - do I stay at 15", move up to 17" or drop down to...
Original 4x DVD+RW died, 2 months after warranty of course. First it stopped reading DVD's, then a week later gave up on CD's too. The rest works fine, purchased a week after the 8600 line was unveiled.
It's disappointing to hear it can't upgrade beyond the 9600. Anyhow, I'm looking in to a replacement laptop but in the mean time another question:
The BIGGEST problem with the graphics on this, is stutter lag. Every 5-10 minutes or so...
Also as I search the forums here, I'm finding random links to overclocking and heat-modifications for the 8600. Is there by chance a single thread where all this info can be found?
That I would like some advice on. Do I sell and spend money on a brand new machine, or do I work with this and upgrade what I can?
My main concern currently is the lack of video power, I'm outfitted with the original GeForce 5650 Go...
