I'm also having a problem with the keyboard, but I think that it's totally different. Occassionally the keyboard will "pop" out of place and I need to snap it back down w/the two tabs along the top. Very frustrating.
The card was $99.95 at Discount Technology (http://www.discountechnology.com/networking.htm ). It was relatively painless -- just took me a few tries to get the antenna connected to the card -- my hands are too big.
I just received my 5680 this afternoon! (Yeah buddy - no dead pixels!)
I installed the tri-mode 802.11 a / b / g card from DiscountTechnology and it works great! In fact I'm sitting at Borders right now.
It doesn't get any better than this!
Okay, think about this. Compare wardriving to tuning you car's radio. You're just listening in to see what is out there. You're not trying to take over the radio station or cause any harm. It's simply a matter of "tuning in" to see what's available. What's the crime in that?
Sagernotebooks.com finally has the preorder page available for the 5680! (Yes, the 5680 use the mini-pci cards for the 802.11 cards for those who were confused.)
The technical details page show that the bluetooth mini-usb card is not available. What gives?
The 5680 DOES have a mini-PCI.
Since the 5680 has the antenna, I'm thinking of just picking up a separate card to avoid the wait. I found a place at http://store.yahoo.com/aaantech/80mi...eferrer=Google that has the 802.11G mini-PCI cards in stock for $69.99 w/same day shipping.
