A friend of mine has a G3 iBook with a dead CPU. Does anyone know where we could find a replacement CPU and/or CPU+motherboard combination to resuscitate the machine?
Yeah, but I need hardware accelerated OpenGL (under Linux) for some custom rendering code. And ATi's drivers choke on some of the OpenGL calls.
I've not played FEAR, but you can probably find a benchmark for it somewhere. I do know that the graphics card in it (Geforce Go 7700) is the fastest you can get in less than a 17" machine. All the games I've thrown at it it runs...

I've never heard of that Asus model. You can get a different and much better Asus model for a similar price to the Dell, though -- see if you can get a Z71A or one of the A8 budget models.
