I highly recommend the Silver Sensor antenna, though it's primarily UHF rather than VHF. Should be available in major chains these days, though I had to get mine imported from England when I bought it (for use with my HDTV).

Well, we're headquartered in Mountain View, CA. We just go to Arecibo a few times a year. Though next month's the last time. After that, we're moving into the new antenna array Paul Allen built for us in Hat Creek, CA.
Should work. Most indoor antennas I see these days (and own; I have three) have coax connectors on them.
