So I think its about time to retire my 5 year old Compal CL56 (im surprised it lasted this long, all original parts too).

i have the proset drivers v9 on my cl56. been using them sincethey came out and they work good for me. no problems at all.
the1n it changes transfer rate according to what ur doing to save power.
i got my cl56 from mwave a few weeks agon and i love it.
2.0ghz pm, 512mb kingston ddr333(choose to get only 128mb of mem because they give u their generic memory which is ddr266), 40gb hdd 5400rom.
havent had any problems with it...
