ok..... after working with the sager techs (thanks allen!), it has been concluded that a problem does exist with both the 8886/7. apparently it appears that the ps2 version of the MS Intellimouse sourced from China locks the machine...

ok, myrkat's NOT really the same situation as arcangel and myself. we're using a straight ps2 mice and that seems to be problematic.. i want to see if the problem is my machine or it's something systematic .
