If you stripped the head you can use a jewelers flat blade screwdriver, then put a knife or razor blade under the screw (pry upwards) while you are turning the screw counter-clockwise.
The CompUSA ram may work fine. Try it and if there's a problem you can return it and get one of the Kingmax 512MB PC2700 modules.
