Have you called them about this? I...
I have a 9860 and I do have to say that it is better than the Sony or HP screens. It's beautiful!!
I think you're better off with the Sager over the Sony or HP in terms of power and the LCD Screen.
I finally received my 9860 on Tuesday and immediately pulled it out of the box and started getting it up to speed. Here's the basic specs of it:
Sager 9860C
17" WSXGA
3.2Ghz CPU
1Gb Ram
80Gb HD
Optical 1: DVD...
I don't know about a Backpack, but there's a couple of Targus cases that seem to work really well. There's one that I believe is a "City Messenger" (or something close to that) that has some nice features to it.
I ordered mine on 12/4 and received it yesterday. It took 10 days b/c of Sager sat on the order for about 3 days before actually beginning to process it so I imagine about a week once the order is placed.
Yeah, I guess after just purchasing a Sager 9860 I have to say that I'm with you on the heavy notebook thing. I just received it yesterday and all the extra weight is more than worth it after looking at the gorgeous 17" WSXGA...
Yep - I have the cool blue clock on the front when using the computer, but those darn volume controls just don't work...
Also, any way to change it from 24hr Military Time to 12hr clock?
First of all - when you get your 9860, make sure to follow the manual and install the drivers in order. Things tend not to work correctly on the 9860 if it's not done correctly.
Second - take a look at this...
