There are various pieces of software that can help. My favorite is called Ultramon. It works beautifully with my 8890 and has some very handy features like being able to assign shortcuts to a particular display resolution, monitor, etc.....
I just did the normal Omega driver install. Very smooth. I did not choose any of the 3rd party tools (Radlinker, etc..). I use PowerStrip and I didn't want to have any extra stuff installed that might conflict.
