Under my system properties, its says "T2500@2.00Ghz" and then right below it says "997Mhz". Is that normal?

I got it and love it so far.... seems even faster than my desktop it is replacing. I bought it with the 2ghz core duo processor but it only shows up as 997mhz no matter what mode I am running in. Any idea what the deal is?
