Well, if anyone's curious (which I doubt, since I have no replies :P), I got the problem fixed by installing an older driver as suggested by HP support (which, BTW, has been very good).

^ Not exactly. Having a router as a DHCP client to your ISP does not mean that login credentials are not required. All that means is that your IP address changes every time you connect to the service. Chances are you still need login...
