I had this problem on my Sager 5680. The problem was that the NumLk key was on. To switch it off on my system, I had to press Fn and the NumLk key at the same time. After that, it worked fine. I don't think this is your problem,...
Just got the BIOS, but I haven't applied it yet. Can someone confirm that it does not de-swap the keyboard layout. I have the Ctrl key on the far left, and I want it to stay there. thanks
Had no problems with my 5680. Works fine, and the security in IE is MUCH better. You can turn off Active-X without getting annoying message boxes.
I hear there is a BIOS patch coming soon (apparently some people have tried it). Check the Sager web-site now and again.
I think the BIOS patch (mentioned above) only works for the choppy-dvd-playback bug with the latest 5690 drivers, or if you have installed ATI Catalyst 4.7 or later. Otherwise, it is a different bug.
