I think caps lock blinking means the memory isnt seated correctly. I could be wrong but its worth a shot. the gpu has a thermal pad, the cpu has spring loaded heatsink. as5 should work fine.

look in bios and verify hyperthreading is enabled

take the fans out and see if the heatsink is clogged. I have to clean out fans and heatsinks quite regularly. i get 2900ish stock speeds. http://support.dell.com/support/edoc...an.htm#1000550
